Job summary

Academics is seeking a Learning Support Worker to join our school team in Cheltenham. You will provide one-to-one and small-group help to pupils, supporting learning, development and wellbeing while building confidence and independence.

You will work closely with teachers to adapt activities for individual needs, monitor progress and FB staff. A caring, patient approach and safeguarding commitment are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
• Support children to access learning and participate fully in classroom activities.
• Assist pupils with additional learning needs and individual support programmes.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Support pupils with communication, social and emotional development.
• Work closely with teachers to adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Monitor and record pupils progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Support pupils during break times, lunchtimes and school activities.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and welcoming learning environment.
