Job summary

Worcestershire County Council in Worcestershire is seeking approachable, flexible bus/driver assistants to transport children and adults to our schools and day centres. You will work as part of a team with the Driver, assist passengers, and ensure their comfort and safety.

The role requires physical activity and the ability to work split shifts; a DBS check will be required. We offer a supportive environment with opportunities for development and progression within the council.

Qualifications

• Requires approachable, friendly and calm under pressure with good communication and people skills.
• Ability to undertake moderate physical activity and assist passengers on/off vehicle as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers to schools and day centres as part of a team.
• Assist passengers with getting on and off the vehicle using steps or vehicle lift as required.
• Ensure passenger comfort and safety during journeys; operate split shift routes.
