Job summary

Amey is seeking a Caretaker to join the Northampton Schools Account, based on site at Northampton School for Girls, Spinney Hill Rd, Spinney Hill, Northampton NN3 6DG. The role is a 6-month fixed term contract, offering £13.72 per hour and a 37.5 hour week (7:00am–7:00pm, start/finish times flexible).

Responsibilities include maintaining the premises, DIY tasks, ensuring heating/lighting/alarm systems function, securing the building, and general site upkeep.

You will be responsible for

• Ensure smooth running of the school premises
• Carrying out day-to-day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (i.e., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
• To ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
• Daily responsible to check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
• Checking the premises to guard against vandalismArranging chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clearing away afterwards
• Litter picking and general clearing of external areas

• Knowledge and previous experience in practical DIY skills for minor repair
• Good Team Player
• Flexible with shift work
• Good at developing strong working relationships with on-site client and employees
• Thisrole will also support both local and businesszero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in astrategicand lean manner as and where it isappropriate.
• Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract
