Pilgrims Hall is a large Regency House with a separate cottage block sitting in 19 acres of grounds. It is a special place where the sense of God’s presence is strong. A peaceful and quiet oasis both geographically and spiritually where Christians can enjoy time in reflection, fellowship and study.
The house and grounds exist to promote and extend the Kingdom of Our Lord through building up of the local Christian community through events, church gatherings, supporting local ministries and doctrinal teaching together with gospel-based community engagement. The ministry is long-established and is currently going through a period of renewal and rejuvenation.
We offer quiet retreats for personal reflection and restoration but also conference rooms and extensive grounds for larger group activities, such as church awaydays for social and spiritual interaction. Our aim is to encourage individuals and churches through our facilities and our supportive on-site team.
We summarise this by the phrase Meet. Pray. Learn. Stay which captures our purpose and value to our local and wider Christian community.
We have a requirement for an additional team member who will both support the residential team with guest arrivals, departures and events but also operate as the onsite handyman/decorator. The role will require day to day maintenance issues to be dealt with as well as more complex occasional painting and decorating projects to keep the retreat rooms and main house in good condition. Whilst there is a separate grounds maintenance functional team, you would be expected to support this team when required.
Experience or skills that would meet the job description including maintenance skills, the ability to work well as part of a team and to interact well with people, flexibility, resourcefulness, reliability and an attitude of service.
