Caretaker/ Cleaning Supervisor
Unity Recruitment is seeking an experienced Caretaker or Cleaning Supervisor for our client, a housing management company.
Working hours: 36 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning all common areas, estate grounds, and play areas as designated by the Estate Manager or Front Desk/Security Coordinator, including litter picking, window cleaning, gutter and drain maintenance, sweeping, washing communal areas, and graffiti removal, following health and safety practices.
- Checking and unblocking chutes and clearing bulk refuse where appropriate.
- Reporting repairs or issues in communal areas, securing damaged areas, and alerting residents and staff to hazards.
- Maintaining monitoring forms and records of cleaning, repairs, and hazards, ensuring effective communication with colleagues and third parties.
- Collaborating with colleagues to devise and implement quarterly and annual cleaning schedules for deep cleaning tasks.
- Assisting in estate security, including checking lighting and reporting security issues.
- Participating in grounds maintenance with colleagues, residents, and third parties as appropriate.
- Arranging estate access for third-party services such as refuse collection.
- Maintaining cleaning stores, equipment, and ensuring their security.
- Undertaking minor repairs in consultation with the Maintenance Officer and Security Coordinator.
- Participating in estate inspections and site meetings as requested.
- Providing reception services for residents and visitors.
- Cleaning office areas as needed to cover staff absences.
- Responding to service delivery issues and customer dissatisfaction, suggesting improvements.
- Promoting the organization, encouraging resident engagement, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Sending necessary communications to residents within agreed timescales.
- Providing updates and feedback for performance management and reporting to the Board or Council.
- Ensuring compliance with housing and statutory requirements, including equality, health and safety, data protection, and freedom of information laws.
- Performing other duties as necessary, including occasional weekend work.
- Working on a rota basis with colleagues to ensure caretaking services from 7 am to 4 pm.
