Job summary

Sanctuary Housing Association in London is seeking a Caretaker to provide maintenance and cleaning of communal areas. The role involves grounds maintenance, liaising with residents, and ensuring safety compliance.

The successful candidate will have cleaning or caretaking experience, strong customer service, and the ability to work to deadlines. The position is 40 hours per week, with a salary range of £29,912–£31,486 per year and benefits.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in operating hand tools and light machinery.
• Some experience of working to deadlines and prioritizing workloads.
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
• Good communication and customer care skills.

Responsibilities

• Working with customers and responding positively to resolve issues and improve services
• Completing all documents and paperwork concerning tasks completed
• Carrying out Health and Safety Inspections and reporting necessary repairs
• Complying with relevant policies and be Health and Safety orientated
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in a suitable condition
• Ensuring all supplies and stocks are ordered

We have an opportunity for a Caretaker to join our team in Kingsmead. As a Caretaker you will be responsible for providing a maintenance service by undertaking caretaking and general cleaning of communal areas. The ideal candidate will have either cleaning or caretaking experience and a track record of delivering high quality services, demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and high levels of customer service.

The role of Caretaker will include:

• Grounds maintenance tasks to include litter picking and general upkeep
