Berry Recruitment Group is seeking a reliable Caretaker/Cleaner for a school in the Bishop Auckland area. This role starts as a one-week assignment with potential for longer-term work, offering £13.50 per hour for 20 hours per week (4 hours daily). Immediate start and weekly pay provided.

The role requires cleaning, caretaking and site maintenance, with responsibilities including opening/locking, safety checks and ongoing site upkeep. DBS is required and a full UK driving licence is preferred.

• Prior caretaking, facilities, or site maintenance experience.
• Experience carrying out basic safety and compliance checks.
• Willingness to perform cleaning duties as required.
• Enhanced DBS certificate is required.
• Reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently.

Caretaker/Cleaner

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and experienced Caretaker/Cleaner to provide cover at a school in the Bishop Auckland area. This is initially a one-week assignment, with the potential to become a longer-term opportunity for the right candidate.

Duties Include:

• Opening and securing the premises


• Carrying out general caretaking and site maintenance duties


• Completing basic compliance and health & safety checks


• Ensuring the site remains safe, secure, and well-maintained


• Cleaning classrooms, toilets, corridors, and communal areas


• Supporting with additional cleaning duties as required

Requirements:

• Previous caretaking, facilities, site maintenance, or similar experience


• Experience carrying out basic compliance and health & safety checks


• Willingness to undertake cleaning duties


• Full UK driving licence and own transport due to the location of the site


• Enhanced DBS certificate required


• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday


• 4 hours per day


• Start time of either 6:00am or 7:00am
