Job summary

Berry Recruitment Group is seeking a reliable Caretaker/Cleaner for a school in the Bishop Auckland area. The role is initially a one-week assignment with potential to become longer-term for the right candidate, paying £13.50 per hour for 20 hours per week (4 hours daily), with weekly pay and an immediate start.

Duties include opening and securing premises, caretaking and site maintenance, basic compliance and health & safety checks, cleaning classrooms, toilets, corridors and communal areas,

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, facilities or site maintenance.
• Able to perform basic compliance and health & safety checks.
• Willing to undertake cleaning duties.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport due to site location.
• Enhanced DBS certificate required.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the premises.
• Carrying out general caretaking and site maintenance duties.
• Completing basic compliance and health & safety checks.
• Ensuring the site remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
• Cleaning classrooms, toilets, corridors, and communal areas.
• Supporting with additional cleaning duties as required.
