PA Network Scotland in NW Edinburgh is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a man with a spinal injury and his family at home and in the community. The role includes assistance with daily living, personal care, and a range of activities such as shopping and driving.
The post is up to 20 hours per week on a part-time basis with shifts including evenings and sleepovers. A full UK driving licence is essential, and PVG scheme membership is required or to be joined.
To join a small team of PAs providing 24×7 support to a man with a spinal injury and his family within the family home and in the community.
He requires support with all aspects of daily living at home and with social and leisure activities. The position involves moving & handling and support with all aspects of personal care as appropriate, household tasks and assistance with shopping, driving, gardening, DIY, etc.
A full clean driving licence valid in the UK is essential and applicants must be reliable, flexible and fluent in both written and spoken English.
You should be friendly, approachable, discreet and trustworthy; a good sense of humour is desirable. Patience, reliability and good physical fitness are a prerequisite as you will be required to assist with moving and handling. Non-smoker required.
This post is up to 20 hours part-time, comprising either:-
Working days will be negotiable, will include some weekends and will be assigned on a monthly rota. Additional hours may be available, mainly to cover annual leave and sickness . Holiday pay entitlement based on hours worked.
