Job summary

Seetec is hiring a part-time CIAG Adviser for HMP Swalside to coach prisoners, deliver workshops and create personalised action plans aimed at improving employability and reducing re-offending. The role focuses on empowering individuals, developing skills and confidence through tailored career coaching within a prison environment.

You will manage caseloads, track progress and contribute to performance targets while attending custody meetings and CPD activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a prisoner caseload and support personal and team targets, including PMT requirements.
  • Record interactions with prisoners on Justice systems, update case notes and MI systems.
  • Document advice and goals in Learning and Work Plan with SMART goals.
  • Meet and strive to exceed personal KPIs related to prisoners seen, reviews and outcomes.
  • Work flexibly across different prisons to maintain continuity of service.

Job description

We’re hiring a CIAG Adviser for a part‑time position (0.4FTE, 14.8 hours per week) to join our team at HMP Swalside.

As a CIAG Adviser you will work within prison settings, empowering individuals to develop the skills, confidence and aspirations needed for a fresh start by providing tailored career coaching, workshops and personalised action plans. This role is an opportunity to transform lives, reduce re‑offending and contribute to stronger communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a prisoner caseload and support the achievement of personal and team targets, including Management Information (PMT) requirements.
  • Record all interactions with prisoners on relevant Justice systems, updating case notes and local MI systems.
  • Document advice and goals in an agreed Learning and Work Plan with SMART goals and actions.
  • Meet and strive to exceed personal performance targets (KPIs) relating to the number of prisoners seen, reviews undertaken and the number of prisoners moving forward in work and/or learning.
  • Work flexibly across different prisons to support continuity of service.
  • Attend custody meetings and, where required, travel to external events and training to support CPD.

Salary and Benefits

Competitive salary range £26,351 to £29,994 P.A. pro‑rata (dependent on experience). Benefits include:
