Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway College in Dumfries seeks an Employability & Skills Officer to deliver practical employability programmes, build confidence in learners, and recruit individuals onto our courses. You will foster referrals and work with partners to widen access to training and employment opportunities.

You will develop strong stakeholder relationships, promote our programmes, and create supportive learning experiences that help learners overcome barriers and take their next steps toward

Qualifications

• Qualifications or skills and experience at SCQF Level 7.
• Practical experience supporting others into employment or training.
• A Group Training Certificate or similar is desirable.
• Experience delivering training courses is desirable.
• Strong customer service, organisation, teamworking, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in digital skills including MS Office and job-specific systems.
• Adaptability to evolving digital tools and a willingness to improve digital competencies.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of employability programmes to learners with diverse backgrounds.
• Recruit learners onto programmes and develop strong referral pathways.
• Build and maintain relationships with partner organisations and stakeholders.
• Create positive learning experiences that help learners progress toward employment.
