Job summary

West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is looking for an Enterprise Coordinator to join our team in Birmingham. You will connect schools, colleges, training providers and employers to help young people gain the skills and experiences they need to make confident, informed choices about their futures.

This fixed-term role runs until August 2027 and sits within the Birmingham Careers Hub and WMCA Careers Hub network, focusing on relationship-building, partnership development and driving Gatsby

Qualifications

• Proven track record of working with schools, colleges, and employers.
• Experience in stakeholder management and communication in education or careers.
• Experience implementing Gatsby Benchmarks Framework.
• Knowledge of national and local policies relating to skills and employment.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Digital literacy using IT and social media to amplify impact.
• GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/Level 4 or above).

Responsibilities

• Support schools and colleges in developing their Careers Provision, connecting them with employers and Enterprise Advisers (EAs).
• Build strong relationships with senior leaders in education, including governors.
• Facilitate partnerships between schools, colleges, employers, and other stakeholders to improve career outcomes for young people.
• Drive progress using frameworks such as the Gatsby Benchmarks and the Careers Impact System.
• Monitor and evaluate careers programmes to ensure quality and impact.
• Represent the Careers Hub at networking events and through stakeholder engagement.
• Deliver training and share best practices with the education and business communities.
• Recruit, train, and support a diverse network of EAs (Enterprise Advisers), matching them with schools and colleges.
