Job summary

Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) operates a residential care facility at New Lodge in New Earswick, York. The Care Team Senior leads the care and ancillary team, ensuring a safe, compassionate service for residents aged 55+ in a 35-hour-per-week role.

Role requires care-experience, safeguarding knowledge, and IT literacy, including Outlook, Word and Excel. DBS check is required; QCF/NVQ Level 2 with progression to Level 3 is preferred. DBS info included in application details.

Qualifications

• Experience in the delivery of care, especially with older people.
• Good working knowledge of compliance within care settings, including safeguarding, incident reporting, medications management and health and safety.
• Ability to effectively use IT, including Outlook, Word and basic Excel.
• QCF/NVQ Level 2 (and be willing to work towards Level 3)

Location: New Lodge, New Earswick, York (Residential Care)

Hours: 35 hours per week on a permanent basis

Salary: £17.06 per hour

The role of Care Team Senior is to provide relationship centred leadership and direction to the care and ancillary team as a shift leader. You’ll also ensure a safe, effective, caring and well led service to our residents and their families.

About you

Here are some of the qualities that we look for:

• Experience in the delivery of care, especially with older people
• Good working knowledge of compliance within a care setting, including safeguarding, incident reporting, medications management and health and safety
• Ability to effectively use IT, including Outlook, Word and basic Excel
• QCF/NVQ Level 2 (and be willing to work towards Level 3)
• A great listener with excellent communication skills
• The ability to be decisive and remain calm under pressure
