Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society in Southampton seeks a Care Team Leader (Senior Care Assistant) for night shifts at Speedwell Court. You will oversee residents' health, care and social needs on your shift, and manage care plans and medication administration.

The role requires experience as a Carer, with Level 3 Health and Social Care or progress towards it, strong organisation and staff supervision, and a compassionate approach to hands-on elderly care.

• Proven organisation and staff management skills; write/update Care Plans and administer medication.
• Passionate about providing exceptional care to residents and families.

Responsibilities

• As the on-shift Senior Carer, monitor residents' health, care and social needs.
• Prepare, implement and review personal care plans, including administering medication.
• Supervise, support, coach and develop other team members; liaise with residents and care professionals.
• Lead on emergency situations when staff or residents need help.

We are now looking for a dedicated Care Team Leader to join our team at Speedwell Court.

Role:

Care Team Leader (Senior Care Assistant) - Nights

Location

Speedwell Court, Mansbridge Road, West End, Southampton, SO18 3HW.

Pay:

£14.77 p/h - £15.24 p/h

Hours

36 hours per week, based on a 2 week rolling rota. Shifts include alternate weekend working.

The Role of Care Team Leader - Nights

• Our Care Team Leaders sit at the heart of what we do. As the recognised Senior Carer on a shift, you'll have overall responsibility for regular monitoring of the health, care and social needs of our residents.
• Preparation, implementation and review of their personal care plans, including the administering of medication.
• You’ll supervise, support coach and develop other team members, and liaise with people involved in resident's care, as well as with the residents themselves. Put simply, you’ll ensure residents' needs and wishes are at the centre of the care we provide.
• As the Senior Carer on that shift, you will take the lead when staff or residents need help, such as in the event of an emergency.

About You

• You must be an experienced Carer, ideally with a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or be committed to working towards this.
• As a Care Team Leader, you must be able to demonstrate good organisation and staff management skills. You’ll already be skilled in writing and updating Care Plans, and competent in the administration of Medication.
• Most of all, you’ll be passionate and committed to providing exceptional care to our residents, their families and friends.
