Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society is seeking a Care Assistant for night shifts at Speedwell Court in Southampton. The role offers a 42-hour week from 8pm to 8am, with a 2-week rolling rota including alternate weekend work. We value compassion, dignity and high-quality, person-centred care.

For almost 70 years, Abbeyfield Living Society has been a leading provider of housing and care for older people across England.

We are now looking for a dedicated Care Assistant to join our team at Speedwell Court.

• Role: Care Assistant - Night shifts
• Location: Speedwell Court, Mansbridge Road, West End, Southampton, SO18 3HW.
• Hours: Average of 42 hours per week. 8pm-8am.
• Shifts: Based on a 2 week rolling rota, shift will be x3 nights week 1, x4 nights week 2. This includes alternate weekend working.

The Role of Care Assistant

As a Care Assistant at Abbeyfield Living Society, you will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care that reflects our values and puts residents at the heart of everything we do.

You will support residents with their day‑to‑day personal care needs, including washing, dressing, eating, drinking and mobility. You will take the time to understand each individual, offering kindness, patience and empathy while promoting dignity, independence and choice.
