Job summary

Midlothian Council in Dalkeith is recruiting a Care Support Worker to provide personal care and respond to the social and emotional needs of older people in a residential setting. The role supports reablement and independence in line with individual goals.

You must have direct care experience, be capable of working with minimal supervision, and be registered with the SSSC with a satisfactory PVG check. Salary is based on a 24-hour week.

Qualifications

• The Jobholder should be educated to at least SVQ level II in Social Care or a related subject or work towards this and complete within 2 years of registration.
• Practical experience delivering personal plans in a supportive role with clients.
• Registered with the SSSC and have a satisfactory PVG check.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and respond to the social and emotional needs of older people in residential care.
• Promote reablement to support clients to work towards outcomes and maintain independence.
• Work without direct supervision with a mature, self-reliant approach and handle unplanned situations calmly.
