Job summary

Standon Gardens Extra Care in Tamworth is seeking a compassionate Support Worker / Carer to join our dedicated team. You will provide person-centred care to residents living in their own apartments on-site, promoting independence, dignity and choice while offering consistent, single-site support.

The role involves varied shifts, including early mornings and evenings, with some weekends and bank holidays. We offer full training, career development opportunities, and generous enhanced bank holiday

Responsibilities

• Providing compassionate care and support, ensuring the comfort, dignity and safety of the people we support.
• Assisting with day-to-day living, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, cleaning and other household tasks.
• Supporting with medication, in accordance with individual care plans, training and company procedures.
• Maintaining accurate care records, care plans and documentation, while following health and safety requirements.
• Building positive relationships with the people we support, their families and other professionals involved in their care.
• Supporting individuals living with Alzheimer's and dementia, including responding appropriately to behaviours and providing meaningful and engaging activities.
• Encouraging independence and supporting people to make their own choices wherever possible.
• Taking part in ongoing training and development, including opportunities to work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
