Peabody are seeking a Care Support Worker (BSL) in Basildon to assist deaf individuals at home and in the community. This part-time role (22.5 hours per week) prioritises building independence and confidence through person-centred support.

You will use BSL to communicate, support daily living, access to activities, appointments and community involvement, while working closely with families and professionals to improve outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting people with daily living, personal care and wellbeing
• Using British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively
• Encouraging independence, choice and confidence
• Supporting people to access activities, appointments and community activities
• Working closely with families, colleagues and other professionals

What You'll Need

Essential

• Full UK manual driving licence
• BSL skills through training, qualifications, or lived experience
• A caring, compassionate and person-centred approach
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work a rota that includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins

Desirable

• Previous experience in a care or support setting
• Care Certificate or NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care
