What you'll be doing

At St Elizabeth's Centre, no two days are ever the same.

One day you could be helping a young person conquer their fear of the swimming pool. The next, you might be baking cakes, supporting a trip out with friends, celebrating a personal achievement, or helping someone learn a new life skill. As a Care Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping children and young people with epilepsy and complex needs live happy, fulfilling lives while building a rewarding career for yourself.

Working within our children's residential homes, you'll support children and young people aged 5-19 with epilepsy and complex medical and developmental needs.

You’ll help children to:

  • Build confidence and independence
  • Develop life skills and reach personal goals
  • Take part in education, therapy and recreational activities
  • Enjoy hobbies, trips out, swimming, baking and community activities
  • Maintain their wellbeing through person-centred care and support

You’ll also:

  • Support daily routines and personal care
  • Work alongside teachers, nurses and therapists
  • Record care notes and progress updates
  • Follow individual care plans and behaviour support strategies
  • Create positive experiences that help children thrive
