Job summary

St Elizabeth's Centre in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support learners with complex learning needs in a safe, inclusive setting.

You will work with teaching staff and therapists to help students achieve their goals, gain confidence and enjoy their school experience. This is a term-time role with close collaboration and development opportunities within a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an education or care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Calm, kind, patient and genuinely passionate about helping others succeed.
  • Willingness to learn and develop in SEN support.

Responsibilities

  • Support students 1:1 and in small groups with learning, communication and independence.
  • Assist in delivering creative, tailored lessons meeting individual needs.
  • Promote a positive classroom environment valuing diversity, respect and wellbeing.
  • Provide personal care and administer medication when needed (with full training).
  • Contribute to a team that celebrates progress and nurtures potential each day.

Teaching Assistant

Location: St Elizabeth's Centre, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire. (Just 10 minutes from Bishop's Stortford and Harlow)

Contract: Term-time only (Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year)

Salary: £21,390- £22,281 per annum (£13.30 - £13.86 per hour)

About the Role

Working closely with teaching staff and therapists, you'll play a key part in helping learners achieve their goals, gain confidence, and enjoy their school experience in a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment.

About You

You're someone who's calm, kind, patient and genuinely passionate about helping others succeed. You don't need formal education qualifications or experience to apply, just the right attitude and a willingness to learn.

  • Experience in an education or care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Confident communicator who can engage positively with children who have learning disabilities.
  • Able to support with personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.
  • Strong team player with good ICT and organisational skills
  • Ready to learn, grow and be part of something meaningful.
