Job summary

Housing Plus Group is seeking an Accountant - Care & Support to deliver timely management accounts across its care and older people services. You will partner with budget holders to provide clear financial insight, support budget setting and in-year forecasting, and help drive strategic decisions with scenario modelling.

The role also covers year-end procedures, audits and statutory statements, while leading a small team of Assistant Accountants and ensuring robust financial controls.

Qualifications

• Active study towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA, or at least three years in a senior finance role alongside AAT qualification.
• Strong Excel skills and advanced financial reporting experience.
• Experience in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely management accounts for the Care & Older People services.
• Explain financial performance and variances to budget holders and operations.
• Provide business partnering support and high-quality financial insight for decision-making.
• Support annual budgeting, in-year forecasting and financial management against budget.
• Identify financial risks & opportunities and model scenarios for the Care & Support Directorate.
• Assist with year-end procedures, audits and statutory financial statements.
• Develop and manage small team of Assistant Accountants; drive continuous improvement.
