Job summary

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Care Scheduler & Analyst in Smethwick. This permanent role (Grade E SCP 18-25) combines workforce scheduling, capacity management and data analysis to support care delivery for vulnerable adults.

You'll coordinate rotas, monitor referrals, and develop reporting and BI capabilities, including Power BI, to drive service improvements and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

• Experience of scheduling, rostering or coordinating services in a busy environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience of working with computerised systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• The ability to analyse information and present findings in a clear and meaningful way.
• A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem solving.
• The ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain staff schedules and rotas.
• Allocate referrals and monitor workforce capacity.
• Respond to short-notice service changes and operational demands.
• Ensure continuity of care and efficient deployment of resources.
• Liaise with operational teams, managers and stakeholders to support service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records and ensuring data quality.
• Produce performance reports and management information.
• Analyse operational data and identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Support the development of reporting systems and business intelligence tools, including Power BI.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and helping to drive operational efficiency.
