Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking an Assistant Operational Manager to lead and support care services across Short-Term Assessment and Reablement, Mobile Response, and related provisions. The role focuses on delivering person-centred care, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will deputise for the Registered Manager, oversee staffing, performance, safeguarding, and service development, in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in health and social care, ideally in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Sound understanding of safeguarding, risk management, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
• Committed to delivering person-centred, strengths-based care and support.
• Experience in workforce management and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Short-Term Assessment and Reablement teams.
• Manage referral processes and outcome-focused interventions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
• Oversee recruitment, induction, supervision and training.
• Coordinate rota planning and workforce capacity management.
• Lead safeguarding, risk management, health and safety and incident management.
• Develop partnerships for integrated service delivery and multi-agency working.
• Analyse performance data and identify opportunities for service improvement.
