Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is recruiting two full-time, permanent roles in the Children in Care and Care Leavers Team, covering Stafford and South Staffs, supporting care leavers aged 16–25. You will work with Social Workers and Personal Advisors, coordinating with housing, benefits, health services and education to guide their transition to independence.

Through corporate parenting principles you will empower young adults to develop skills for their futures and help them access opportunities

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People or Health and Social Care Level 3.
• Experience with teenagers/young adults or care leavers is desirable.
• Knowledge of multi-agency working with housing, welfare benefits, health and education.

Responsibilities

• Engage in education, training and employment opportunities for care leavers.
• Help care leavers acquire budgeting and life skills.
• Assist with securing and maintaining accommodation and housing options.
• Promote healthy lifestyles and access health services.
• Encourage use of community and leisure services and maintain social links.
• Support responsibility as citizens and maintain family and friendship networks.
