Job summary

City of Doncaster Council is seeking a Cook to join the Positive Step Assessment Unit in Doncaster. This permanent, part-time role (25 hours per week) offers a Grade 6 salary from £27,274 to £28,153 pro-rata plus a 6% all-inclusive allowance for shift and weekend working.

You will provide fresh, nutritious meals for 33 service users, manage menu planning, food ordering, budgeting, and staff supervision, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety in line with CQC requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a kitchen and supervising staff is essential.
• Level 2 Food Safety in Catering preferred; CPD encouraged.
• Understanding of nutritional needs for adults in health and social care.

Responsibilities

• Assess quantities and order provisions for the kitchen.
• Manage and monitor food budget to avoid overspend.
• Oversee stocks, cleaning schedules and hygiene records.
• Create personalised dietary plans with service users.
• Ensure health and safety and lead the kitchen team.
• Comply with CQC standards and regulations.
