Job summary

City of Doncaster Council is seeking a part-time Cook for the Positive Step Assessment Unit in Doncaster. The role requires shift work across 7 days, 25 hours weekly, with a pro-rata Grade 6 salary of £27,274–£28,153 and a 6% all-inclusive allowance for shift and weekend working.

DBS enhanced disclosure is required. You will provide high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals for 33 service users, manage budget and stock, and lead kitchen staff within health and social care standards.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a kitchen and mentoring/supervising kitchen staff is essential.
• A level 2 food safety in catering & evidence of Continued Professional development is preferred.
• An understanding the nutritional requirements of Adults in a health and social care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess quantity and order provisions for the kitchen.
• Manage and monitor the food budget to avoid overspending.
• Manage stocks, cleaning schedules and food hygiene records.
• Work with service users to create personalised dietary care plans.
• Ensure health and safety of the kitchen and lead the team.
• Ensure duties meet CQC Standards.
