Job summary

CareTech is seeking a dedicated Cook to maintain a clean, safe kitchen and to follow dietary requirements and preferences. You will ensure hygiene standards, prepare meals, and complete documentation while adhering to health and safety regulations.

We value caring, patient and respectful individuals with strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Level 2 Food Hygiene is required or training will be provided on appointment.

Qualifications

• Confident, caring, patient and respectful with a positive and resilient attitude.
• Good communication and basic IT/written skills are essential.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to train immediately upon appointment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a clean, safe, hygienic kitchen environment in line with health and safety, COSHH and food hygiene legislation.
• Follow dietary requirements, allergies and preferences.
• Clean and maintain the kitchen to a high standard after meal preparation.
• Complete kitchen documentation including cleaning records and temperature checks.
• Adhere to food hygiene, health and safety, and infection control procedures.
• Report stock shortages or maintenance issues to management.
