Job summary

Aurem Care is hiring a kitchen assistant to support meal preparation for residents in a care home setting. You will maintain high service standards during meals and help with daily kitchen tasks in a busy environment.

Role involves following special diet plans, completing HACCP records, and assisting with menu planning under the Head Chef. DBS and a company pension are provided, along with in-house training.

Qualifications

• Must have previous cooking experience
• Teamwork and ability to work independently with creativity and passion
• Ability to follow and prioritise tasks and responsibilities
• Proficiency in food preparation techniques
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Great communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare special diet meals following care staff instructions
• Ensure high level of service for all meal times
• Complete all HACCP-related documentation
• Report equipment defects to the Home Manager
• Ensure quality and portion control
• Assist Head Chef with four weekly menu planning
• Perform ad hoc duties to meet service delivery for residents
