Job summary

Healthcare Ireland Group is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for Glenabbey Manor in Newtownabbey. You will support the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals and dining experiences for residents in a safe, person-centred environment.

Responsibilities include stocking, delivering supplies, basic food prep, maintaining cleanliness and regulatory compliance, and supporting the Chef with day-to-day operations. A caring, team-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK.
• Good standard of English (spoken and written).
• Previous catering, kitchen or food preparation experience.
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Stores and accounts for catering stock and equipment per standards.
• Delivers meals and supplies to units in a timely manner.
• Assists with basic food preparation under supervision.
• Ensures cleaning in kitchen, catering and servery areas meets standards.
• Maintains a clean, tidy environment and compliant work processes.
• Undertakes other duties as designated by Chef or Cook.
