Job summary

Bupa Hatfield Peverel Lodge Care Home in Chelmsford is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team. This permanent, part-time role offers 20 hours per week, 8:00am to 6:00pm, across two days with alternate weekends, delivering meals to residents with care and attention.

You will support our kitchen team by plating meals, prepping food trolleys, and keeping work areas clean, while ensuring high standards, hygiene, and residents' dietary preferences are respected.

Qualifications

• A passion for food with previous kitchen experience and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• You aim to deliver excellent service at each meal and make residents feel at home.
• You understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home.

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents.
• Assist the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and keep preparation areas clean.
• Monitor stock rotation and follow COSHH/HACCP guidelines.
• Assist with catering for events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.
