Job summary

Orchard Healthcare Group is seeking a Registered Manager for Penwortham Grange and Lodge in Preston to lead a multi-faceted care portfolio with focus on safety, quality and person-centred care. Qualifications

• Successful experience as a Home Manager within a care home.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification.
• A strong understanding of CQC requirements and evidence of achieving or sustaining Good or Outstanding outcomes.
• A track record of improving care, culture, occupancy or commercial performance, with clear examples of the results achieved.
• The ability to lead nursing, care and support functions as one team.
• Confident communication, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Create a clear direction for the home and translate it into practical priorities for every team.
• Maintain strong clinical and care governance, with effective oversight of audits, incidents, safeguarding, complaints and improvement actions.
• Build a positive, accountable culture where colleagues feel supported, standards are understood and poor practice is addressed promptly.
• Recruit, retain and develop a capable team, with safe staffing and reduced reliance on agency colleagues.
• Know residents and families, listen well and respond openly when concerns are raised.
• Manage the home’s budget, staffing and resources responsibly while improving occupancy and strengthening local relationships.
• Work effectively with CQC, commissioners, health professionals and community partners.
• Be present, organised and decisive, particularly when the home faces pressure or change.
