Job summary

Domus Recruitment is seeking an ambitious Home Manager for an independent elderly care home in the UK. You will provide stable, visible leadership, set clear expectations and drive a positive, patient-centred culture with high standards of care.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong people management and a track record in compliance with CQC regulations. You will work closely with owners to shape the service’s future and foster staff development for long-term stability.

Qualifications

• Essential: Management or senior leadership experience within an elderly residential care environment.
• Essential: Strong people management and team leadership skills.
• Essential: Good knowledge of CQC regulations and elderly care standards.
• Essential: Ability to bring structure, consistency and stability to a staff team.
• Essential: Hands-on leadership style and willingness to be visible within the home.
• Essential: Genuine commitment to the service and long-term development.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for day-to-day operational management of the home.
• Provide visible, consistent leadership to the staff team.
• Bring greater stability and structure to the service, ensuring roles are clear.
• Develop a positive team culture built around communication, accountability and high standards of care.
• Ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity and wellbeing.
• Maintain compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements and statutory standards.
• Lead recruitment, supervision, training, development and performance management of staff.
• Monitor quality assurance, audits, incidents, risk assessments and improvement plans.
• Build strong relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external stakeholders.
• Manage staffing and resources effectively while maintaining care standards.
• Work closely with the owners, providing clear communication around performance and development.
