Bupa UK is seeking a Maintenance Operative for The Lindsay Care Home in Poole. You will maintain facilities, ensure compliance with SOPs, and support health and safety across the home.

The role focuses on keeping buildings, systems and equipment in good repair with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and customer service. A full driving licence and a relevant trade qualification or 3+ years hands-on experience are required.

Competenze

• Must understand building services incl. heating, hot/cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution and plumbing.
• Solid knowledge of building fabric and its maintenance.
• Experience with planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
• Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and compliance experience.
• Full driving licence required.
• Qualified in building/electrical/plumbing or 3+ years hands-on maintenance experience.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Computer literacy is expected.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Flexible to meet changing demands within the care home.
• Experience in painting and decorating.

Mansioni

• Carry out health and safety, compliance checks using digital systems per SOPs and required timescales.
• Close tasks assigned by Maintenance Manager or home using approved tools.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness in care home to satisfy EH, Fire Authority and Health & Safety rules.
• Complete maintenance/repair tasks to high standards and within budget, supporting brand standards.
• Document residents' space preferences and take action.
• Report defects, obtain quotes, and manage repairs per SOPs.
• Escalate irreparable defects to Home Manager or Property/Maintenance Manager.
• Support refurbishment/capex programs with minimal disruption to residents.
• Maintain and securely store all tools and equipment.
• Assist with induction on emergency exits and evacuation procedures.
• Provide regional maintenance support as needed within 1 hour travel from home.
