Job summary

Hartford Care Ltd is seeking a reliable Maintenance Operative for our Pembury care home in Tunbridge Wells. The role involves keeping the home safe, well-maintained and comfortable for residents, staff and visitors, with duties across general maintenance and small repairs.

This full-time position offers 48 hours per week at £14.00–£14.70 per hour, with opportunities to contribute to a homely environment. Previous care-home maintenance experience would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks throughout the care home.
• Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Identify and report any maintenance issues, hazards or defects.
• Maintain the cleanliness, safety and appearance of the building and surrounding grounds.
• Carry out minor plumbing, decorating, carpentry and repair work where competent to do so.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff.
• Ensure maintenance equipment and tools are used safely and stored securely.
• Follow health and safety procedures and comply with relevant care home policies.
• Support the home in maintaining a safe, comfortable and homely environment for residents.

About the Role
