Job summary

Meyer House Care Home, part of the Nellsar family, is hiring a Maintenance/Handyperson to work across both planned and reactive tasks. You will ensure all areas are hazard-free and equipment is in full working order, contributing to high-quality resident care and safety.

The role offers opportunities for ongoing training and progression within the company, with weekend work and a starting hourly rate of £14.00 discussed at interview.

Qualifications

• Experience in building upkeep and general repairs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety and hazard prevention.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the assessment of maintenance effectiveness and delivery.
• Carrying out routine repairs and monitoring on systems and grounds.
• Systematically solving day-to-day issues that arise.
• Keeping residents' rights, privacy and dignity when working nearby.
• Checking and tagging electrical appliances for safety per Health & Safety rules.
• Liaising with contractors for work outside the team’s expertise.
