Job summary

Albany Care Home in Leyton, E10 is seeking a dedicated General Maintenance professional to join our team. The role covers general repairs, safety checks, and upkeep of the building and gardens. You will liaise with trades and ensure COSHH compliance while managing the maintenance stock.

The ideal candidate has basic electrical and plumbing skills, is proactive, and willing to work out-of-hours in emergencies. This is a full-time, in-person role with a pay rate of up to £17.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care or nursing home maintenance role.
• Desirable Health and Safety qualifications.
• Good awareness of Health and Safety practices.
• Basic electrical skills.
• Basic plumbing skills.

Responsibilities

• General repairs and maintenance: fix fixtures, appliances, minor plumbing and electrical tasks.
• Check water temperatures in sinks, showers and baths.
• Install shelves, hang pictures, and fit window locks.
• Decorate bedrooms and corridors (painting/wallpapering).
• Conduct fire and health and safety checks across the home.
• Purchase and manage maintenance consumables and stock.
