Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Head of Maintenance for a care home. You will lead the maintenance team, oversee day-to-day plant and building works, and ensure a clean, well-maintained environment that supports excellent resident care.

You’ll manage a varied workload—from fixing fittings to grounds work—liaise with contractors, and assist the General Manager with annual budget planning. A full UK driving licence, at least one trade skill, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English are

• Hands-on property maintenance experience across building, gardens and grounds.
• At least one trade skill and the ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks.
• Reliable and flexible with working hours.
• Full UK driving licence, IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead a maintenance team and support the General Manager with annual budget planning.
• Liaise with contractors on jobs outside the team’s expertise.
