Job summary

Barchester is seeking a Head of Maintenance for a care home to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. You will lead the maintenance team, handle day-to-day repairs, and manage upkeep across the building and grounds.

You will work closely with the General Manager, plan annual budgets, liaise with contractors, and apply hands-on trade skills as needed. A full UK driving licence and IT literacy are required, alongside GCSEs in Maths and English.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience with at least one trade skill.
• Full UK driving licence.
• IT literacy.
• GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead a maintenance team and coordinate daily repairs within the care home and gardens.
• Liaise with contractors for specialist works outside the team’s scope.
• Assist the General Manager with annual budget planning and cost control.
