Job summary

Nazareth care home is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our catering team with food preparation and cleaning duties. Full training will be provided, and you will work in a collaborative team to ensure meals are prepared to standard.

We emphasise strong communication, time management and organisational skills, with DBS/PVG checks required and ongoing learning opportunities offered throughout your career.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable, or you will be willing to undertake the relevant training to gain this qualification.
• The ideal person for this role would have previous kitchen experience but this is not desirable and full training will be provided.
• As a Kitchen Assistant, it is essential you have good communication skills and can work well within a team and individually.
• The role would suit someone who has the ability to prioritise tasks, has a flexible approach and is energetic and hard working.
• It is also important that you have good time management, great record keeping and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving food
• To prepare residents meal trolleys and trays to the correct and specified standard prior to serving meals
• Participate in general kitchen duties as required
• To ensure high standard of hygiene and cleanliness are adhered to and maintained at all times within the kitchen
