Job summary

HC-One is seeking an Assistant Chef to prepare nutritious meals for Residents in our dementia, nursing and residential homes. You will support the First Chef, help manage stock and meet budget targets, and supervise kitchen tasks to ensure high standards of service.

You must have a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate and demonstrate strong kindness, organisation and teamwork, while safeguarding Residents and supporting colleagues across shifts.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food safety.
• Ability to follow recipes precisely and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Cook and serve nutritious meals for Residents.
• Provide support to the First Chef in their absence.
• Assist with food stock management and budget usage.
• Coach colleagues and supervise kitchen clean-up.
• Attend safeguarding training and report concerns as needed.
