Job summary

Dean Wood Care Home in Brighton is seeking an Assistant Chef to join our kitchen team. You will cook with fresh ingredients, create varied menus in line with dietary needs, and help residents feel at home.

The role is permanent, 38 hours per week, 3 x 7am-5pm with alternate weekends. You will train and lead kitchen staff, follow COSHH and HACCP guidelines, and contribute to delivering high-quality dining experiences for our residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fresh food kitchen with hygiene certificates.
• Ability to create nutritious menus in line with dietary needs.
• Open to new ideas while maintaining high standards.
• Good communication with residents and team.

Responsibilities

• Create varied and nutritional menus for residents.
• Deliver an excellent dining experience and help residents feel at home.
• Train and manage kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving.
• Adhere to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, budgets, orders and deliveries.
• Cater for special events and seasonal activities.
