Job summary

Excelcare Holdings is seeking an experienced Head Chef for the St Georges Court Care Home in Cambridge. You will lead the kitchen team, plan nutritious menus, and ensure meals meet dietary and budgetary requirements while delivering compassionate service to residents.

You will work with care professionals to support residents’ dietary plans, maintain food safety standards, and promote dignity and independence in meal experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience of cooking for large numbers.
• 2 years’ experience in a catering environment.
• 12 months experience in managing a kitchen.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals using fresh ingredients.
• Schedule weekly meal menus with dietary requirements.
• Order stock in line with budgetary requirements.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to align meal plans with support plans.
• Maintain quality assurance systems in the kitchen.
• Supervise kitchen team members and ensure health and safety standards.
