Job summary

Excelcare Holdings is seeking an experienced Bank Chef for our St Georges Court Care Home in Cambridge. You will deliver nutritious, freshly prepared meals, tailor menus to dietary needs, and work with the team to ensure high standards of care and dining experiences for residents.

The role requires previous kitchen management and a focus on safety, hygiene, and quality assurance. Bank hours and a supportive, family-style environment are highlighted throughout the package.

Qualifications

• Experience of cooking for large numbers.
• NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality.
• 2 years' experience in a catering environment.
• 12 months experience in managing a kitchen.
• Excellent interpersonal skills as you will be involved in meaningful activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals using fresh ingredients.
• Schedule weekly meal menus, paying attention to individual dietary requirements.
• Collaborate with the Home Manager to ensure stock ordering aligns with budget.
• Work with healthcare professionals to align meal plans with support plans and risk assessments.
• Maintain quality assurance systems within the kitchen.
• Undertake supervision of other kitchen team members.
• Adhere to Health & Safety, COSHH, and contamination guidelines.
• Promote independence, choice, dignity and respect in daily activities for residents.
