Job summary

Excelcare Holdings is seeking an experienced Cook to join Primrose Croft CareHome in Cambridge. You will prepare nutritious meals, manage dietary requirements, and work with staff to ensure meals fit individual care plans and budgets.

The role involves supervising kitchen staff and upholding health and safety standards. The successful candidate will have NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality, plus at least 2 years in catering and 12 months in a kitchen leadership role, with a commitment to

Qualifications

• Experience of cooking for large numbers.
• NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality.
• 2 years’ experience in a catering environment.
• 12 months experience in managing a kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals using fresh ingredients.
• Schedule weekly meal menus, considering dietary requirements.
• Order stock with budgetary guidelines in mind.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals to align meal plans with support plans.
• Maintain quality assurance systems in the kitchen.
• Supervise other kitchen team members.
• Adhere to Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and contamination controls.
• Engage residents with meaningful activities while promoting independence and dignity.
