Job summary

Orders of St. John Care Trust is hiring a Cook to join our catering team in a care home environment. You will prepare meals for residents, ensuring nutritional requirements are met and high standards of food hygiene are maintained.

The role offers contracted hours of 30 per week with shifts from 8am to 7pm across three days, and weekend work may be required. You will join a supportive team dedicated to warm, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional kitchen environments.
• Ability to cater for specialist diets and large groups.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required or being pursued.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for residents in a professional kitchen.
• Ensure nutritional needs and dietary requirements are met.
• Maintain high hygiene and food safety standards.
• Support a three-day, 30-hour weekly shift pattern (8am–7pm).
