Job summary

Excelcare Holdings is seeking an experienced Cook for Winifred Dell Care Home in Brentwood, Essex. You will prepare nutritious meals for residents, using fresh ingredients and managing daily menus within budget and dietary needs.

You will work 8am to 5pm, 24 hours per week, with responsibilities including stock ordering, quality controls, health and safety, and supervising kitchen staff while promoting dignity and respect for residents.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality required.
• 2 years’ experience in a catering environment.
• 12 months experience in managing a kitchen.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals using fresh ingredients.
• Schedule weekly meal menus, considering dietary requirements.
• Order stock with budgetary considerations in mind.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals to align meal plans with support plans.
• Maintain quality assurance systems within the kitchen.
• Supervise other kitchen team members.
• Adhere to Health & Safety, COSHH, and food hygiene guidelines.
