Job summary

Excelcare Holdings is seeking an experienced Bank Cook/Chef for our Glennfield Care Home in Wisbech, Cambridge. You will prepare nutritious meals using fresh ingredients and contribute to a compassionate, supportive kitchen team for residents.

The role requires experience cooking for large numbers, NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality, and at least 2 years in a catering environment with 12 months in kitchen management, plus strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals using fresh ingredients.
• Schedule weekly meal menus and accommodate dietary requirements.
• Work with Home Manager to ensure stock ordering aligns with budget.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals to integrate meal plans with support plans.
• Maintain kitchen quality assurance systems.
• Supervise other kitchen team members.
• Adhere to Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and contamination guidelines.
• Promote independence, choice, dignity and respect in activities with residents.
