Job summary

Orchard Care Homes is seeking a skilled Cook for Millfield Nursing Home. You will plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals, supervise a kitchen team, and manage stock and food orders to meet individual dietary needs.

Working with Home Manager and staff, you’ll ensure high standards of food safety and hygiene while following the Good Food Guide and dietary requirements. 35 hours per week, with an hourly rate of pay.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking in a care home or similar setting.
• Knowledge of HACCP and health and safety guidelines.
• Understanding of texture modified and allergen-free diets.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals that suit residents’ needs.
• Supervise kitchen team, manage food orders and stock levels.
• Ensure cleaning schedules and equipment maintenance meet safety standards.
• Comply with food safety legislation and infection prevention policies.
