Orchard Care Homes Eckington Court Nursing Home is seeking a Chef/Cook to prepare nutritious meals, supervise kitchen staff, and manage orders and equipment. You will follow food safety guidelines and ensure timely daily meals.

You will work with the Home Manager to deliver high-quality, person-centered dining experiences, including texture-modified and allergen-aware menus, within a supportive team environment.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in professional kitchen within care/home settings.
• Knowledge of texture modified diets and food allergens.
• Knowledge of modified diets and creating specific meal plans to suit an individual’s needs.

Aufgaben

• Plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals which are appealing, nutritious and centred around individual preferences and dietary requirements.
• Be active and encouraging, provide guidance for the team and maintain a friendly, supportive working environment.
• Understand and comply with statutory requirements (HACCP, Health & Safety, COSHH, Environmental Health, Care Standards Act) and Infection Prevention/Control policies.
• Implement, monitor and maintain cleaning schedules to meet the Food Safety Manual; ensure kitchen areas are clean.
• Ensure sufficient food stocks are ordered from approved suppliers and rotate stock for freshness.
• Knowledge of texture modified diets and food allergens; create meal plans to suit individual needs.
