Job summary

Westward Care Ltd in Leeds is seeking a Chef to prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents at The Cedars Care Home. The role requires hands-on cooking, adherence to food safety controls and delivering a varied, appetising dining experience.

You will work with fresh ingredients, follow approved recipes, and support safe kitchen cover. The postholder will promote dignity, choice and compliance with dietary plans while assisting with menu development and resident feedback.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience as a Chef or Cook.
• NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent.
• Food hygiene qualification appropriate to the role.
• Experience preparing meals for a range of dietary needs.
• Solid knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals using fresh ingredients.
• Follow menus, portion guidance and presentation standards.
• Ensure meals are produced and served on time at a consistent standard.
• Support catering for special events and resident celebrations.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and safety in the kitchen.
